Boring Picture-less Update

We have been pretty busy around here lately!
Lamar is working really hard and getting his business going again. He has a new hobby...fixing up an old Triumph motorcycle. He is really excited about it! He still loves to be active and his latest craze is the P90X workout program.
I started school again and after this semester I will have completed all my pre-reqs to apply for the nursing program. I have one online class, one night class, and a class Friday afternoons. I was able to work my schedule so that I'm not away from the boys for too long, and Lamar can watch them when I do go. So it has been good.
Miles started a new preschool at a local elementary school. He is liking it so far. He is such a social and friendly little guy. I get to go help in his classroom 1-2 times a month and I really like that because I get to see exactly what he is learning and how he is interacting with the other children. Lately Miles is really into VeggieTales, A Bug's Life (He likes to be called Flik, a character from the movie), and having "dance parties". I swear that kid is hilarious!
Little Nico is great. We have his one year checkup soon - a little late but it's coming up. He is walking - not full blown walking...but he can take a handful of steps at a time. He says "mamama" and "dadada" and lately he has been trying to put on his own shoes. It's pretty cute. He has been getting a couple molars lately, but seems to be handling it well. Nico loves to laugh and smile. He likes to wrestle with Miles and Daddy. Those three are going to be quite the trio!
So all in all, we are doing well....and hope you are too!

Miles turns 4!

Last month we celebrated Miles' 4th birthday. I decided to throw him his first big party, with friends and family. Miles told me that he wanted a "captain party", which meant he wanted a pirate party. So I worked hard on getting it put together for him. Long story short, the party didn't really turn out as I had hoped (due mainly to super strong winds that forced us to move the party last minute to my bro and sis-in-laws house that was luckily very close by). But Miles told me that he had fun, and I think the other kids had fun... and that's all the matters. Pretty crazy though. Oh, and because of the craziness of it all I wasn't able to get the pictures I wanted. I was really bummed about that. Luckily I did get a few on my phone and my friend Tawna came through for me and took some pics. I only have a few to post now, but hopefully I'll get some that Tawna took on here at some point.

Lil' Pirate Nico

Earlier in the day we took Miles swimming so he could try out his gift from Lamar and me. We got him this shark boy swimming gear and he loves it. He loves trying to sneak up to people and get them!
Miles is truly a joy to have around, and he is such an important part of our family! We love him more than words can express~

Nicholas Lamar

Seeing how our little Nico has just one, I figured I would write a little post about him. I truly feel that Nico has always been my little angel, with the timing of when he was born and all of the comfort he gave me while his Dad was away. He has such a sweet disposition, and is so smiley and fun. He has taken a couple of his first steps, but he still is mainly crawling around. He and Miles love playing together. Miles tries to pick him up and rough house with him and I always have to remind Miles that his little bro is still too little to rough house. But they sure are good little buddies. Nico also has a little special buddy in his little cousin Jasmine. Since they were born so close together they are sometimes called the "cousin twins". Nico and Jazzy love to play together. Nicholas is a good eater, he especially loves fruit and french toast sticks. Nicholas has a way of making people happy.
We can't imagine our lives without our precious Nico!

Luau!

My adorable niece turned one just 10 days after Nico and my sister and bro-in-law threw her an amazing luau. It was so fun!
We made these cute photo cut out things. Well actually my contribution was helping paint the cardboard white to prep them. My sis in law and mom deserve the credit for how cute they turned out!Adorable Ellie doing her hulaThe band
If anyone has an event coming up, my sis has serious party planning skills!

Nico Turns One!!

Cute little Nicholas celebrated his 1st birthday last week. I can't believe my little guy is already one! Nico is sweet and funny, and he loves playing with his big brother. He hasn't started walking yet but he can crawl around with some serious speed. Nico has started waving 'bye bye', and he loves music and playing with toys. Nicholas has been getting reacquainted with his daddy and now he gets a big smile and giggles when he see his dad. One of the best parts of having Lamar home is watching him play with the boys. And the boys love rough housing with Daddy!

Major Breshears

I haven't been the best at keeping this blog up to date lately... I'm going to add a few posts and hopefully catch up a little bit. So a big piece of news in our family is Lamar was promoted to Major. We are so proud of him!
